This kid latches onto things for awhile. It began with a discarded paintbrush, moved to a couple measuring tapes, and now...a fly swatter. He even took it on our kite flying expedition.

Today was absolutely beautiful. Since we have kites now we are in the kite-flying mood. We took a little walk down a dirt road to fly our kites and check out the sheep in a nearby orchard. There were so many little lambs. The kids kept running around with their kites yelling, "schaapies!"

We went to a kite festival. The kids were able to decorate and then fly their own kites. It was pretty neat to see. There were even professional kite flyers who flew their kites choreographed to music.

On Friday after visiting Jeanette in the hospital (congratulations!) we went to the oak preserve. We always love exploring there. What a great way to begin our weekend.

The kids had fun coloring eggs. Though they weren't purposefully going for the marbleized look, after numerous dunks in several colors they ended up looking pretty Martha-ish.

Our tradition is to get one of these while at the beach. Carter wasn't feeling real great so he and I went for a walk while Blake played with the girls at the beach. I got to pick out all the flavors this time...and they were all yummy.
